The Department of External Media at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Libya’s Government of National Unity has denied the report aired by Al-Arabiya TV channel claiming that the ministry’s headquarters had been stormed, affirming that the news is completely false and not based on any factual events.
In an official statement issued Monday evening, the department expressed its astonishment that an international channel of Al-Arabiya’s stature would publish such a serious report without referring to any official or unofficial sources, despite having offices and correspondents inside Libya. The ministry considered this a blatant violation of journalistic ethics.
The statement confirmed that the ministry continues its work normally and without interruption, with no incidents or disruptions recorded. It called on media outlets to ensure accuracy and professionalism, and to avoid spreading rumors that could incite public opinion and destabilize the country.
