The Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Aqila Saleh, held talks with the UN envoy Abdoulaye Bathily in the city of Quba on Wednesday.

Discussions focused on efforts to hold presidential and parliamentary elections, including the findings of the Joint Committee 6 + 6 concerned with setting up the legal framework for the process.

Aqila stressed the need to form a unified government, which main task is to hold elections according to the will of the Libyan people, as he demanded that information about the HoR should be obtained from its official sources.

For his part, Bathily expressed the United Nations' support for the Libyan efforts aimed at holding fair and transparent elections, calling on all Libyan actors to engage in dialogue and cooperation in order to achieve the desired goal.
