In a meeting with the United Kingdom's ambassador to Libya, Caroline Hurndall, in Tripoli, the Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, has asked the House of Representatives (HoR) and High Council of State (HCS) to look for the best interest of Libya away from political conflicts.

Menfi and Hurndall discussed Tuesday the latest political developments in Libya as well as challenges facing holding elections, in addition to ways of reaching fair and transparent parliamentary and presidential elections, which Menfi said must be held as per a constitutional framework that is agreeable to all parties of the political process.

Hurndall hailed the Presidential Council’s role in maintaining calm and stability and stressed the continuation of the UK’s support for the Council’s efforts in the file of national reconciliation and toward holding constitution-based free and fair elections.
