The Director of the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Haider Al-Sayeh, has stated that a state of emergency must be declared for one year in all storm affected cities.

Al-Sayeh added in a statement that the water in the city of Derna is polluted and unfit for drinking, and all water desalination plants have completely stopped.

Earlier, the NCDC warned of an environmental catastrophe in the east of the country due to the decomposition of bodies under the rubble, calling for the necessity of starting an urgent vaccination campaign for all rescue teams and residents in the affected area in eastern Libya, especially children and women.
