Sources from the central region reported the arrival of two battalions belonging to the so-called Dignity Operation to the Red Valley (Al-Wadi Alhamar) east of Sirte.
The sources added that the military reinforcements coincided with the installation of a defensive system in the region of Ras Lanuf and tunneling activities, under the pretext of repelling any military attack on the region.
Hafter's forces said the step came after monitoring movements of forces affiliated to the former Petroleum Facilities Guard leader, Ibrahim Jadhran, while other sources pointed out that the real motive was to move towards Sirte in an attempt to distract the Central Region Forces, amid reports of an expected move by Hafter towards the capital Tripoli.
