The Ocean Viking, a rescue ship chartered by SOS Mediterranee, rescued 68 stranded migrants in international waters off Libya on Sunday.

AFP quoted officials of the organization as saying that the migrants were sailing onboard a double-decker wooden boat that left Libya's Zuwara on Saturday.

"Several of them are suffering from seasickness and are currently being treated by the medical team of SOS Mediterranee and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) on board the Ocean Viking," the NGO said.

Images on X, formerly Twitter, showed several dozen migrants crammed into a makeshift boat wearing orange life jackets.
