Police in Sabratha have managed to thwart an attempt by a group of migrants to cross the sea.
In a statement on Facebook, the Ministry of Interior said the migrants were caught on the beach while preparing to embark west of Sabratha.
It confirmed that the group was referred to the security services of Sabratha to undergo investigations and legal measures.
The statement did not mention the number of migrants arrested in the incident, but the images attached show dozens of migrants, including women and children.
