The Attorney General, Saddiq Al-Sour, issued pretrial detention orders for the head of the steering committee of the Islamic Call Society, along with its General Secretary, following questioning of both individuals.
The Public Prosecution charged both defendants with serious misuse of public funds and issues relating to the public interest, along with misuse of the power of their positions.
The prosecution explained that the investigations conducted with both officials showed that the behaviour of those managing the Islamic Call Society was contrary to usual practice, as a result of their misuse of large amounts of money allocated for a particular purpose.
