The Public Prosecution has ordered the detention of the mayor of the Hay Al-Andalus municipality on charges of seizing in-kind donations, provided by the United Nations with the intention of helping to secure the electrical supply during the war that the country witnessed in 2019.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office said that the accused illegally disposed of electricity generators worth 450,000 dinars.
He also seized durable goods which were sent to confronting the effects resulting from the displacement of citizens, according to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
