The head of the Bureau of Investigations in the Public Prosecutor`s Office, Siddiq Sur, stated that he had informed Interpol of the arrest of a group of people involved in the smuggling of fuel from Libya by sea.
Sur elaborated, in a press statement, that most of the owners of the ships that were seized are located in Malta and Cyprus.
He added that the Public Prosecutor`s Office is seeking to put a judicial guard on some of the fuel distribution companies, in addition to increasing efforts in appointing a guard on the Highway Services Company, which should help to eliminate fuel smuggling.
