The State of Qatar has denounced Haftar’s claim as leader of Libya, adding that it is merely a continuation of his coup against the internationally recognized government and the Libyan national consensus.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry continued in a statement, that Haftar’s announcement showed clear contempt for the international community, which remained silent for an extended period, without taking action against the serious crimes committed against the Libyan people since the onslaught on Tripoli.
The statement stressed that Haftar made false statements in his declaration, which reflects his total disregard for the sanctity of Libyan blood and also for those who listen to him.
It called the international community to face its responsibility and work towards stopping Haftar and his militias from continuing to spill innocent Libyan blood.
