Italian Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio said that Italy and Qatar are closely monitoring the Libyan situation in light of recent developments, calling on the Libyans to deal with transparency, integrity and inclusiveness for the country's interest.

This came in a joint press conference in Rome with Qatari Foreign Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, on the occasion of the first session of the strategic dialogue between the two countries, according to the Italian Nova News Agency.

The two sides agreed on the importance of maintaining the unity of the countries most committed to achieving stability in Libya to support a Libyan-led political process facilitated by the United Nations, which allows achieving the democratic aspirations of the Libyan people by holding elections.
