The United States Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, David Schenker said that Europe could do more in Libya by publicly denouncing the Wagner Group and Russia, along with other countries such as, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Egypt.

Schenker added that Europe is proud of the IRINI mission which aims to enforce the arms embargo, however, it has been noted that its implementation appears to target Turkey alone, noting that on no occasion have Russian, Emirati or Egyptian planes and support been intercepted.

He stressed that Europe does not seem to be taking these matters seriously and that it could, in fact, name and criticize all foreign interference in the Libyan conflict
