The Ministry of Education in Libya's Government of National Unity (GNU) has postponed the start of the 2024-2025 school year until September 15th. The decision follows ongoing maintenance work at several educational institutions across various municipalities.
Despite the delay, the Ministry has confirmed that the academic and examination schedules outlined in Ministerial Decision No. 984 for 2024 will remain unchanged, indicating that the postponement is intended to ensure students return to a conducive learning environment.
Teachers are set to return to school next Sunday, with students expected to resume classes in mid-September.
