Police in Tripoli have arrested a foreign street vendor selling rainbow-coloured kites symbolizing the LGBT.
Upon investigation, the vendor confirmed that he had purchased the kites from a toy shop on Omar Al-Mukhtar Street, central Tripoli.
The shop owner was summoned for questioning and disclosed that he had imported a batch of toys, including the kites, from China three years ago.
The Tripoli Security Directorate confirmed that it had taken legal action against the vendor, a clear indication of the authorities' stance on this matter, and referred them to the Western Police Station, which is the competent authority for this issue.
