Libya and Algeria have agreed to activate their consular affairs and border committee during a meeting between Libya’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Al-Taher Al-Baour, and Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf.

The discussions took place in the Algerian capital on the sidelines of the 11th ministerial meeting of the African Union’s (AU) Committee of Ten (C10), which focuses on the reform of the United Nations Security Council.

Both ministers emphasized the importance of continuing efforts and urging international stakeholders to address the interests of the African continent and unify the positions of AU member states.

They also highlighted the need to activate the Consular Affairs Committee between the two countries and ensure regular Border Committee meetings to oversee the implementation of its directives.
