The Speaker of the Algerian National People's Assembly (APN), Ibrahim Boughali, affirmed on Sunday his country's stance towards rejecting external interference in Libyan affairs.

Boughali's remarks came during his meeting with Libya's Minister of State for Women's Affairs, Houria Tarmal, who started a working visit to Algeria last Wednesday.

The meeting was joined by Algeria's Minister of National Solidarity, Family, and Women's Issues, Kawthar Krikou.

Algeria welcomes all initiatives aimed at supporting the elections and uniting the Libyan people and their official institutions while respecting the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Boughali said.

He also reiterated the need to resolve the Libyan crisis under international legitimacy and United Nations charters.

The APN head offered condolences for the recent floods and stressed Algeria's solidarity with the Libyan people in their present plight.

For her part, Tarmal praised Algeria's position in supporting Libya "at all times," as she highlighted the unique ties that the two countries share.

She also expressed her gratitude for Algeria's solidarity with the Libyan people in their current ordeal, stressing her government's keenness to develop bilateral relations and promote cooperation in various fields.
