A report issued by the Central Bank of Libya revealed that Turkish products accounted for nearly 30% of the imports of the Libyan private sector in the first five months of 2023.

The report said that the percentage of foreign exchange spent by the private sector on importing Turkish products amounted to 30% of the total allocations of the letters of credit for the same period.

The value of the Libyan private sector spending on importing Turkish goods amounted to about 1.4 billion dollars out of a total of 4.8 billion dollars for letters of credit, which indicated an increase in the volume of importing Turkish products compared to last year, as the total value in 2022 amounted to about 2.4 billion dollars.
