The UN envoy to Libya Abdoulaye Bathily said Thursday that he had exchanged views on the current status of the political process in a telephone call with the Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Aqila Saleh.
Bathily added in a post on “X” that he had agreed with Saleh to continue consultations in order to push for a political settlement that would lead to holding elections, ensuring Libya’s unity, sustainable stability and peace.
The UN envoy and Head of the UN Support Mission in Libya added that he had renewed his call on the House of Representatives to intensify efforts to reach a political settlement.
