UNICEF office in Libya said that nine Libyan children lost their lives as a result of landmines and explosive ordnance in 2023, stressing the need to double effort to get rid of the remnants of war.
This announcement came in a statement on Thursday on the occasion of World Mine Awareness Day, when UNICEF said that it had succeeded in educating 150,000 people about the dangers of ammunition, in cooperation with local partners, through awareness campaigns using radio and publications in the most affected areas.
At the conclusion of World Mine Awareness Day, UNICEF renewed its commitment to working closely with partners to protect every child in Libya.
