The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) confirmed on Saturday, its full support for the need to preserve the integrity and independence of the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) to ensure that Libyan resources benefit all Libyans.
“As co-chairs of Berlin Process Economic Working Group (Egypt, European Union, United States, UNSMIL) we fully support the need to maintain the integrity and independence of NOC of Libya to make sure that Libyan resources benefit all Libyans”, the Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on Libya, Stephanie Williams tweeted.
In the same context, the embassies of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States warned in a joint statement on Friday against undermining or politicizing the work of the NOC, which poses a threat to the peace and security of Libya.
