The General Staff of the Libyan Army has announced the extraction of a warship called Zalten from the port of Khoms city, which sank more than 20 years ago.
In a statement, the General Staff stated that personnel from the Underwater Search Center of the Naval Forces have accomplished the final stage of extracting Zaltan, which sank more than two decades ago.
The process of lasted two consecutive months, based on the necessary technical procedures followed in this regard, to ensure the success of the mission and safety of those involved.
The statement also reported that the center's personnel had, during the past period, extracted the submarine Hunain, which was in the same area, and which had been submerged under water since 2014 due to damage to its pipes. Its recovery took 25 days, it added.
