The official spokesman for the Municipality of Sirte, Mohammed Al-Amil said in a statement that the management of the Man-made River project confirmed that water will be back in the neighbourhoods of the city within the next 24 hours.
The water has been cut off from the area stretching from Sirte to Ajdabiya since last Thursday after a local citizen from Henioah area damaged the main feeding line while trying to install a pipe of his own to feed his farm with water.
"The pipe installed illegally will be removed and new pumps will be installed in the collection tank instead of the damaged ones to alleviate the suffering of the residents of Sirte", Al-Amil explained.
