The Head of the Administrative Committee of the Man-Made River Authority, Ahmed Ali Al-Deeb, announced on Saturday the start of the final finishing work on the temporary bridge linking the east and west of the city of Derna.

In a brief statement, Al-Deeb thanked everyone participating in these works, without providing further details.

Al-Deeb previously confirmed that the work of pouring concrete on the temporary bridge in central Derna is being completed, noting that the laying of 18 concrete pipes to construct the bridge has been completed.

Storm Daniel, which struck eastern Libya on September 10, caused severe damage to the infrastructure in the city of Derna, and the collapse of a 30-kilometre-long road network there, according to the report of the Technical Committee for Damage Survey formed by the Roads and Bridges Authority.
