GECOL

The spokesman for the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL), Wiam Al-Tayeb, has announced the resumption of work on the West Tripoli Steam plant project by the Korean company Hyundai after a hiatus for years.

Al-Tayeb explained in a statement to Hakomitna platform that the plant consists of 4 turbines, with a total production capacity of 1,400 megawatts.

He also indicated that an agreement was reached to resume implementation of the project, after negotiations between the management of the GECOL and the implementing company, Hyundai.
