US President Joe Biden has announced emergency financial support to help organizations address the impact of torrents and floods that struck areas of eastern Libya.
In a statement, Biden expressed his deep condolences to the families who lost loved ones in the devastating floods in Libya.
He confirmed that the US will send emergency funds to relief organizations and is ready to coordinate with the Libyan authorities and the United Nations to provide additional support.
"We join the Libyan people in their grief over the loss of so many lives, and we send our hope to all the missing loved ones," Biden said.
Earlier, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller expressed his country's sympathy and condolences to the Libyan people in a statement shared by the US State Department website on Monday.
