The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Saddek Elkaber met with the Chargé d’Affairs of the British Embassy to Libya, Catherine Wild, accompanied by the Economic Advisor at the embassy, Simon Field.
The British diplomatic team extended their condolences to the victims of the floods and expressed the UK's eagerness to help those impacted by the disaster.
Wild highlighted her country's efforts in assisting the ongoing relief operations by dispatching a team to help in search and rescue efforts and delivering medical aid.
The two sides debated on the World Bank's potential role in mitigating the effects of the floods, akin to its efforts in other countries.
The group also reviewed the advancements regarding the unification of the Central Bank and the embassy’s support on this track.
