The Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah discussed with the Minister of Sports, Abdul Shafie Al-Juwaifi, and the Head of the Libyan Football Federation, Abdul Hakim Al-Shalmani, the preparations of the Ministry and the Federation for the start of the six-team league matches and they all agreed to unify efforts to push for Libya to win the hosting of the 2025 U-17 African Cup of Nations.

Dbeibah stressed the need to pay attention to the national football team, and directed the Ministry of Sports to give priority to support for the national team in coordination with the Libyan Football Federation. He stressed the need to unify efforts between the Football Federation, the Ministry of Sports, and the clubs participating in the six-team league to make it successful, stressing the need for sportsmanship among the participating teams.

He also called for playing the Premier League in all its stages inside Libya, and to address the two-group system, indicating that there is no disagreement among all Libyan clubs. He stressed the need for putting in place the necessary security arrangements in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, to ensure the safety of the public and clubs.

Al-Shalmani presented a briefing on the conduct of the Premier League at all levels, the events that accompanied a number of matches, the actions taken by the Football Federation, the problems and difficulties facing the national team in this regard, and the approved calendar for its preparations.

Al-Juwaifi also presented a briefing on the Ministry of Sports’ support for clubs participating in league competitions at all levels to be able to participate, pointing to the Ministry’s plan to increase support for clubs to raise their readiness and level.
