The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) has promised better services in the future as development work at the West Tripoli Power Plant is nearing completion.
In a post on Facebook, the company confirmed that the first unit of the West Tripoli Emergency Power Plant would be linked to the electricity grid very soon, indicating that the step contributes to reducing the deficit in energy.
"The emergency power plant project west of Tripoli is approaching the date of operating its first production units to fill the deficit in the produced electric power," the company said, noting the "significant efforts" made to reach this stage.
Last week, the GECOL confirmed the completion of more than 90% of the emergency power plant project in west Tripoli, which the company relies on to cover much of the deficit in its network, especially at peak demand during the summer months.
