Gunmen attack Libya’s elections commission
At least three people were killed and others wounded in a suicide attack on the High National Elections Commission in Ghoat Shaal district of Tripoli on Wednesday.
Security sources said the attack was carried out by three gunmen, two of them blew themselves up and the other was killed in an exchange of fire with security forces. Several offices were set ablaze in the attack.
Eyewitnesses said they heard two loud explosions followed by heavy gunfire.
The Ministry of Health said three people were severely wounded in the attack.
A video posted by Tripoli Safety Department showed a raging fire inside the building. The man in the video said “two black attackers blew themselves up.”
The identity of the attackers is yet to be known.
