Deputy Prime Minister, and Acting Minister of Health, Ramadan Boujnah, has said that all medical teams and planes which left from Maitiga Airport to Sebha were intercepted and not allowed to help the injured of the Bent Bayah accident.
Boujnah made this disclosure in a press conference about Bent Baya accident, he held at the Burn and Plastic Surgery Hospital in Tripoli, which was posted on ‘Our Government's Platform’ on Facebook.
He pointed out that Tripoli Central Hospital received 23 patients, whose burns vary from severe to moderate.
It is expected that the Tripoli ‘s Burn and Plastic Surgery Hospital will receive new cases from the south, he added. ‘All health services affiliated with the Ministry of Health are working to treat the injured’ he stressed.
Boujnah said that the Ministry of Finance provided all resources to enable the Tripoli’s Burn and Plastic Surgery Hospital render the best of services to the injured. He also stated that a group of the injured are currently receiving treatment in two hospitals in Benghazi, explaining that the ministry is trying to transfer fewer cases for treatment abroad.
Earlier, Haftar’s armed militia prevented a plane carrying Foreign Minister, Nagela Al-Manqoush, with medical aid to Sabha Hospital from landing at the city’s airport. The plane was heading to Sabha also to transport the injured of the fuel tanker accident, to receive treatment in Tripoli.
