The Head of the Presidential Council of Libya, (PC) Fayez Al-Sirraj, has discussed with a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) the latter's assistance to handle the humanitarian crisis caused by war and conflicts in Libya.
In a meeting on Monday, Al-Sirraj reviewed with the ICRC's director of operations Dominik Stillhart and others, the activities done by the organization before and the upcoming ones scheduled for 2019.
Al-Sirraj reiterated his ideas dicussed last February with the ICRC's General Director, including the need to expand cooperation to contain sectors like health, social affairs and others.
Al-Sirraj also expressed willingness to support the ICRC in all ways in order for it to work properly in Libya.
Currently, southern Libya is seeing terrible humanitarian crisis amid a military operation led by Khalifa Haftar's self-styled army.
An official in Murzuq, southern Libya, said that the town's hospital is in dire needs for medications and assistance, saying the only help it had received earlier was from the ICRC and World Health Organization.
