Children MPs

The Libyan Children's Parliament, affiliated with the Ministry of Social Affairs, has organized an event in solidarity with the children of Palestine in the Gaza Strip.

At least 10,022 Palestinians, including 4,104 children, have been killed by Israeli bombardments in Gaza over the past month.

"On average, a child is killed and two are injured every 10 minutes during the war," the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) said on Monday.

The children who attended the session said they wanted to voice their rejection of "the brutal attack on the Gaza Strip by the Zionist occupation forces."

They showed their support by reciting poems against the Israeli occupation and in defence of the Palestinian cause.

The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Monday that "Gaza is becoming a "graveyard for children", as he warned of more dying with basic supplies running low for Gaza’s 2.3 million residents.

Catherine Russell, the executive director of UNICEF, also revealed that at least 6,300 children have been injured due to the Israeli attacks.

"These numbers should shock and shake us to the core," she said.

The organization called for an immediate ceasefire, with all access crossings into the Gaza Strip opened for humanitarian aid, including water, food, medical supplies, and fuel.
