Senegalese coach Aliou Cisse arrived in Libya to hold negotiations with the Libyan Football Federation to take over the position of technical director of the Libyan national team.
Sources said the technical director of the Libyan national football team will be Senegalese Aliou Cisse, if the ongoing negotiations between the two parties succeed.
The same sources added that the Libyan Football Federation intends to soon announce the appointment of Cisse as technical director of the Knights of the Mediterranean.
It is noteworthy that Cisse was among the guests attending the opening ceremony of the Benghazi Sports City Stadium on Thursday.
The Libyan national team is awaiting a tough match on March 19 against Angola in the fifth round of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
The Libyan national team is ranked second in its group with seven points, one point behind Cameroon, and is tied with the third: Cape Verde.
