HoR speaker

The Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Aqila Saleh, discussed with a delegation from the Amazigh social components of Jebel (Mountain) Nafusa and Zuwara the latest political developments in the country, especially the HoR's issuance of the law to elect the president of the country and elect the National Assembly (Ummah Council), according to a statement issued by the HoR spokesman, Abdullah Blehiq.

Blehiq said the Amazigh delegation included a number of dignitaries, elders, mayors, and several civil society activists, while he did not mention any information from both sides regarding electoral laws.

On Saturday, Blehiq cited the Chairman of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Emad Al-Sayeh, as saying that the HNEC received election laws signed by the HoR in accordance with what was approved by the 6+6 Joint Committee.

The HoR passed the election laws last Monday and on the following Wednesday, it sent a copy to the HNEC.

The Head of the HCS, Mohammed Takala, rendered the approved election laws as a violation of the political agreement and the 13th amendment of the Constitutional Declaration, adding that the laws were null and void.

Takala said the 6+6 Joint Committee had no right to add any amendments to the election laws after they had been signed in Bouznika. He called on the Chairman of the HNEC, Emad Al-Sayeh, to be committed to the outcomes of the 6+6 Committee that were signed in Morocco.
