Libya's Grand Mufti, Sheikh Sadiq El-Gariani, expressed strong support for recent presidential decisions, particularly regarding the Ministry of Interior assuming its duties.

In a statement, the Mufti hailed the move as a wise and necessary step for the country’s stability.

During his weekly program, "Islam and Life," Sheik El-Gariani emphasized the role of the February brigades, urging them to focus on supporting justice both within and outside Libya rather than engaging in internal power struggles.

He urged them to come together and establish a code of honour aimed at "liberating the nation and restoring its sovereignty."

El-Gariani also criticized recent budgetary decisions made by the Libyan parliament, describing them as "disastrous" and accusing lawmakers of neglecting their responsibilities to the people.

He called on the Presidential Council (PC) to maintain its freeze on both the House of Representatives and the High Council of State while pushing for fresh elections to break the current political deadlock.

Additionally, the Mufti condemned the policies of former Central Bank Governor Sadek ElKaber, insisting that his monetary decisions were in violation of both legal and religious principles.
