Maltese Ambassador to Libya, Charles Saliba

The Maltese Ambassador to Libya, Charles Saliba, accompanied by his deputy, Gabriel Camenzuli, visited the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday to offer condolences for the victims of Storm Daniel. 

Ambassador Saliba also provided an update on the first day of operations for the Maltese contingent currently on the ground in Derna. 

He added that the Maltese Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and Trade is also scheduling a donation for the coming days.

Malta was one of the first countries to send assistance to Libya. A search and rescue team is working on the ground to support the Libyan authorities in the rescue operations of the worst hit areas by the flooding in the east.
