ISIS days in Sirte are numbered as Misrata-led forces took full control of neighbourhood 600 on Saturday following three days of fighting.
Earlier in the day, the infantry continued their advance into neighbourhood 600, made up of 600 flats, and forced ISIS militants to retreat to the neighbouring district of Jiza which has become the last ISIS-held area in Sirte.
During their advance, 1 Turkish national, 1 Egyptian and 11 enslaved women from Eritrea were rescued.
The infantry are now conducting a combing operation in the neighbourhood to search for any hiding militants or planted IEDs.
Recapturing neighbourhood 600 means Jiza buildings have become under the fire of Misrata-led forces, which would pave the way for the control of the sea-view district and declaration of victory over ISIS in Sirte.
