A delegation representing "Med Air," a company specializing in assessing civil aviation security risks, visited Mitiga International Airport on Tuesday to evaluate security procedures in place at the airport.
Prior to their visit, the delegation took part in a workshop in Tripoli on Monday, wherein they deliberated on strategies to update the database pertaining to restrictions on civil aviation movements within Libyan airspace.
The workshop aimed to comprehend the latest advancements in aviation security in Libya as well as the initiatives aimed at enhancing the civil aviation sector.
Subsequent to their assessment at Mitiga Airport, the company's team will determine the extent to which the security procedures adhere to international standards and regulations. Their evaluation will ensure the presence of requisite measures to safeguard civil aviation against external threats. Additionally, their agenda includes interactions with specialists from pertinent agencies and authorities.
The results of this visit are expected to prompt a reassessment and potential modification of prior advisories regarding the restriction of aviation activities in Libyan airspace. Such revisions have the potential to facilitate the resurgence of international airlines operating flights to Libya.
