Qatar Civil Aviation Authority has dispatched a technical team to assess the logistical arrangements at Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli, Qatar's Ambassador to Libya, Khaled Al-Dosari, told Hakomitna platform on Monday.

According to Al-Dosari, Qatar Civil Aviation Authority has engaged in talks with its Libyan counterpart on a potential resumption of direct flights between Tripoli and Doha.

He expressed his government's desire to open its airspace and operate direct flights through Qatar Airways.

"The State of Qatar is very keen to lift the air embargo imposed on Libya and is ready for international cooperation regarding the embargo on the sisterly state of Libya," the ambassador said.

Talking at a symposium organized by the Ministry of Transport on Monday, Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah confirmed that his government is in talks with Turkish and Qatar airlines to resume direct flights to Libya.
