The Head of the Media Bureau of the Special Deterrent Force, Ahmed Ben Salim, said the force arrested a number of persons involved in the explosion attack on police recruits camp in Zliten, which took place last January.

Ben Salim added that the arrested persons are three brothers from Zliten and a person from Al-Khumus city, pointing out that the uncle of the three brothers is also involved in the blast and is still at large.

“The arrested men are involved in many other explosions that took place in other districts in Libya.” He remarked, indicating that the force will post a video of the confessions of the four arrested men, where they will explain their relationship with the explosion perpetrator, Huthaifa Al-Masri, and how they planned for the suicide explosion attack on the Zliten recruits camp.

“We have been tracking the ones involved in the blast for months, we stormed into a farmhouse in Zliten and we found a lot of weapons, including 90 howitzers.

On January 7th, a truck full of explosives stormed into a police recruits camp in Sooq Al-Thulataa districts in Zliten killing 55 and injuring 187 in a deadly blast.
