Switzerland has allocated $800,000 to support the UNICEF Libya programme, "Support Vulnerable Children in Libya through Child-Sensitive Social Protection, Education, and Protection Services."

The UN organization said the two-year program would help improve access to inclusive social protection services and strengthen child protection systems.

"By strengthening both systems through better data, enhanced targeting, and capacity building, UNICEF aims to create an inclusive and protective environment for children, especially the most vulnerable," UNICEF stated on Sunday.

Michele Servadei, UNICEF Representative in Libya, considered the support "an important step" towards creating an inclusive and protective environment for all children, especially those most at risk.

"We look forward to working closely with our partners and the Libyan government to achieve tangible and sustainable results for children and adolescents in the country," the UNICEF official said.
