The head of the Finance Committee in the House of Representatives (HoR), Omar Tantoush, said that the unified salary scale bill needs more time to examine, especially in light of the presence of many special schedules, as well as independent and private institutions such as the judiciary.

Speaking about the draft investment portfolios law, Tantoush added during a parliamentary session on Tuesday that the investment portfolios were established by an unchecked previous decision.

He pointed out that the Finance Committee of the HoR submitted a memorandum to the Social and Economic Development Fund, to check the draft bill, which has not yet been examined.

A parliamentary session was conducted on Tuesday in the city of Tobruk, to discuss the draft internal security law, according to what was stated by the spokesman of the Council, Abdullah Blihaq, during which the HoR decided to return the draft internal security law to the Legislative Committee and the Interior Committee to check and amend it, suspending the session to the next day.

The HoR decided in its session held on Monday to choose one of the two candidates - Fathi Bashagha and Khaled Al-Bibas - as the head of the new government next Thursday, February 10. The election of a new prime minister is most likely to spark conflict and division in the country due to the rejection of several political groups.
