Al-Ahly Tripoli made a good start to the journey in the African Confederation Cup after defeating Zanzibari's Uhamiaji 2-0 in the first leg of the preliminary round of the tournament on Sunday evening at Tripoli International Stadium.

Al-Ahly managed to score early, as Sudanese professional Ammar Tayfour managed to score the first goal in the third minute with a powerful shot that found its way into the Zanzibari team's net.

In the 67th minute, the referee awarded a penalty kick to Al-Ahly Tripoli. Ahmed Karawa stepped up to score the second goal in the 68th minute, ending the match 2-0 for Al-Ahly Tripoli.

In another match, Al-Ahly Benghazi lost its match against Al-Hilal of Sudan 1-0 at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benghazi, in the first leg of the preliminary round of the African Champions League. The only goal of the match came in the 70th minute.
