Libyan Abu Salim football team was knocked out of the CAF Confederation Cup in the quarter-finals after losing the second leg match to the Moroccan RSB Berkane team 3-2 at Stade Municpal de Berkane in Morocco, knowing that the first leg, which was hosted at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi, ended 0-0.

Hossam Al-Bani opened the score for Abu Salim in the 47th minute, then RS Berkane put two goals to come back in the game in the 68th and 73rd minutes. The excitement returned to the match when Abu Salim scored the equalizer by Abdelmonem Okasha in the 83rd minute.

Youssef Al-Fahli scored a third goal for RS Berkane in the 99th minute, but the referee decided to cancel it on the recommendation of VAR, and as the match was extended for more minutes, RS Berkane scored a late winner in the 105th minute to qualify to semifinals of the Confederation Cup to face USM Algiers of Algeria.

Meanwhile, the match witnessed a protest by the Abu Salim players against the Egyptian international referee, Mohamed Maarouf, in objection to the refereeing performance and the addition of more than 15 minutes of stoppage time, enabling the Moroccan team to score the winning goal in its last minute.
