Libya's national football team won against Botswana 1-0 in a friendly match at Tripoli International Stadium in preparation for the start of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers that will be held in Morocco in 2025.
The match did not witness any serious attempts by either team until the 53rd minute when the referee awarded a penalty kick to Libya as a result of Ahmed Karaoua being obstructed inside the penalty area, so Karaoua made it 1-0.
After the goal, the coach of the Libyan national team made a number of substitutions with the aim of giving the opportunity to the largest number of players to participate, and at the same time checking the players' performance before the start of official matches.
This friendly is the national team's last before facing Rwanda in the opening of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers next Wednesday at Tripoli International Stadium.
It is worth noting that this is the first time in 10 years that Libya has played at Tripoli International Stadium after its maintenance this year.
