The Libyan Football Association (LFA) spokesman Lutfi Jarboa has confirmed the start of the "Libyan Premier League" on the scheduled date: October 05, and the start of the cup tournament on October 01.

Jarboa told reporters that the Executive Office of the LFA had formed committees to inspect the stadiums that will host league matches, adding that all the committees began to visit those stadiums to determine their readiness.

He also indicated that the league matches will be held in a two-group system, and in two stages as agreed previously, so that the teams in the first three places from each group qualify for the six-team round to determine the Premier League champion.

Regarding the attendance of fans at league matches, Jarboa said that the Competitions Committee had confirmed the existence of a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of the Interior for the formation of a committee to visit the stadiums that will be approved for hosting matches in order to allow 3000 fans to attend.

A spokesman for the LFA said that its Executive Office and the Competitions Committee are determined to make the league competition in its new season distinct and successful, stressing that all preparations are now going well.

Al-Ittihad club won the Libyan Premier League title in its 47th edition last season for the 18th time in its history, boosting its record for the most crowned teams in the Libyan football league.
