Security Services in Benghazi have managed to free a four-year-old girl after being kidnapped by a Chadian woman from a hospital.
The child was taken while her mother was receiving treatment for a stroke at the ICU, the authorities in Benghazi said.
The security services raided the place of residence of the kidnapper in the Lathama neighbourhood and found three persons of Sudanese nationality in a state of drunkenness.
The offender cut the infant's hair "in an African style" to mask her identity, the authorities said.
According to the security services, the gang was using children to beg in the streets, underscoring that the offenders have been referred to the Public Prosecutor to complete the legal procedures.
