Minister Muhammad Al-Hawij of Economy and Trade has ensured consumers that Ramadan essential foodstuff and commodities will be fully available during the holy month, vowing to follow up on the documentary credits to help reduce prices and secure the flow of goods to the market.

Al-Hawij's remarks came at a governmental meeting headed by Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah.

A statement by the Hakomitna platform said the PM ordered the Municipal Guard and the Control Center to "play their role in following up on the validity of goods and the unacceptable increase in prices" in cooperation with the Economy Ministry.

Dbeibah also addressed the meat imports and stressed the need to follow up on the exporting countries, taking into account health requirements and the method of slaughter that should correspond to the Islamic guidelines.

He also ordered the formation of an emergency room to monitor the availability of goods and prices in the local market in cooperation with merchants and commodity suppliers.
