The head of the General Authority for Tourism, Khidir Malik, has discussed with a delegation from the Turkish tourism sector the prospects for cooperation in the tourism sector between Libyan and Turkish investors.

The meeting, which was held at the Authority’s HQ on Thursday, dealt with cooperation in the field of hotel investment, marine and air constructions, and taking advantage of investment opportunities available in the tourism sector.

In the same context, Malik stressed the importance of attracting local and foreign investors to implement tourism projects, enhance cooperation between investors in the two countries, and coordinate between government institutions concerned with managing the investment sector.

For his part, the Turkish delegation welcomed the cooperation between Libyan and Turkish businessmen, expressing readiness to present proposals to the Turkish Businessmen Council.

The meeting also included a visual presentation on the tourism potentials in Libya, sites ready for tourism investment, and the Authority’s 2021/2025 plan, aimed at stimulating tourism development and resuming work on stalled projects, the Authority stated on its official Facebook page.
